Husband and wife duo Tyrone and Vihara Whittle started Keith Lloyd Couture in June, 2005 to provide custom clothing that truly has style and fits perfectly.

The idea for Keith Lloyd Couture started in 2003 after Tyrone had his first custom suit made for his and Vihara's wedding ceremony. Tyrone grew up around fashion much of his young life. His mother designed couture wedding gowns and his father had a shoe manufacturing company, so the idea of creating clothing that is personalized to the individual always appealed to him. Tyrone sold the idea to his wife and the two have built a company that quickly evolved from focusing on men's bespoke suits to creating a full custom designed wardrobe for both men and women. Tyrone handles the design vision and Vihara ensures the company operates efficiently.

They create clothing collections and provide these unique designs directly to clients, bypassing mass-market retail outlets. Every article of clothing is hand tailored to a client's exact measurements.

Clients get the best of both worlds: More designs than from a traditional tailor, and the exactness of a bespoke fit that cannot be had from an off-the-rack designer. The experience starts with a personal consultation (by appointment), then ends with uniquely designed clothing.

Keith Lloyd Couture is an appointment-only couture house in New York City. We create clothing collections and provide these unique designs directly to clients, bypassing mass-market retail outlets.

Every article of clothing is hand tailored to a client's exact measurements. Clients get the best of both worlds: More designs than from a traditional tailor, and the exactness of a bespoke fit that cannot be had from an off-the-rack designer. The experience starts with a personal consultation (by appointment), then ends with uniquely designed clothing.

The Co-Founders

Tyrone Whittle - Co-Founder / CEO and Head Designer

Tyrone studied at Ohio Wesleyan University and holds a BA in Mathematics, Computer Science and Economics. He spent most of his young life in Kingston, Jamaica around fashion. His mother designed couture wedding gowns, and his father owned a shoe manufacturing company and also had a bespoke shoe line for select clients.

He started designing and making shirts, and experimenting with dying as a teenager, with inspiration from Will Smith's character on the hit TV show "Fresh Prince of Bellaire". The idea of custom designed clothing is nothing new to him - in Jamaica Tyrone recalls summers being exciting as all the kids had their new uniforms made for the next school year - what was different for Tyrone is that he always worked very closely with the tailors to add unique designs (as much as he could get away with). This was the start of Tyrone's passion for fashion design and custom clothing.

After graduating college Tyrone held various jobs in associate or managerial role in financial institutions like Deutsche Bank. In 2003 Tyrone's passion for fashion was reborn after getting his first custom suit made for his wedding reception. That was the start of the Keith Lloyd Couture vision.

Vihara Whittle: Co-Founder and COO

Vihara holds a BA from Ohio Wesleyan University and a Master's degree in economics and international business from Columbia University. She was born in Sri Lanka and since the age of ten she has lived, studied and traveled extensively in diverse countries including UK, France, Pakistan and the US. Vihara worked within the nonprofit and business sectors at prominent international organizations including the United Nations Capital Development Fund.

While her education and work experience provides a strong stepping stone for her role as COO, Vihara's passion for design and art started from an early age. She was heavily inspired by the different languages, cultures, and peoples of countries where she grew up and this extended to the appreciation of clothing, as she was known to develop her own designs and sense of style. This creative background has enabled her to contribute to the creative visionary development of the Keith Lloyd Couture brand.
